The Isle of Wight – beaches & coves (ITINERARY)

When one of my favourite bloggers, Ben Penreath, doesn’t post in his usual Sunday night slot, while I pine a bit because of the lack of “Inspiration” that week, I imagine what wonderful place he’s off to this time and usually head over to Instagram to see where he’s at.

A few weeks ago I was myself away for the weekend, for my first ever trip to the Isle of Wight.

I wasn’t prepared for the wind (apparently it’s always windy there), the cost of the ferry (£110 return – but we did only book five days in advance so perhaps that’s why), the seeming lack of good eateries (any recommendations?) or the wonderful, dreamy beaches – Compton Bay was the best stop off at a whim.

Below are some pictures of Compton Bay, with the itinerary at the bottom.  We walked 45-minutes all the way until the beach was no more and then came back, all the time chasing the waves as the sea continued to go out.  It was a perfect beach.
