The Sunday after Hampton Court Flower Show, we drove down to Wisley.
It was one of those searingly hot days where progress around the garden was slow, and consisted largely of walking for a few moments in the heat and then taking refuge for 15 minutes or so, somewhere in the shade and 10 degrees cooler than out in the midday sun.
I managed a few photographs. On previous days that week my iPhone camera had overheated and died (so I lack photos of Hampton Court after about 1pm – I couldn’t face carrying the big camera in the extreme heat), so for Wisley I kept it in a cool bag, next to ice-cold drinks cans, in case we broke down and actually needed it. I stuck to the “big” camera.
