It’s autumn

I visited Wisley Garden and it actually felt like autumn – those days where there’s a chill in the air despite the sun shining from the sky, and when at home you debate turning the central heating on, to take the damp out of the atmosphere.

I laid with the apples on the floor of the orchard, away from the maddening crowds who were down the hill, buzzing around the autumn flower show.

I stood like everyone else on arrival and admired the long water.

I bought hyacinths and narcissi, which are now tucked up in their flower pots, the former being forced for Christmas, the latter laying down roots so that they can provide Springtime cheer.

Dahlia ice cream cone anyone?

Happy autumn.  My favourite time of year.

When visited: September 2016
