Markenfield Hall (North Yorkshire): hidden up a 1 mile drive

My pictures don’t do Markenfield justice.  It’s a moated farmhouse.  It’s ancient.  It’s a working farmstead.

Interestingly, the upstairs fireplace had been lost and was recently recreated.

And I would happily have their doorbell.

The “family” live in the big house to the top r/h corner and left while the tenant farmer lives in the house to the right.

When visited: June 2014
