Woburn Abbey (Bedfordshire): the components of a fashionable garden

D, with whom I often travel, is a fountain of knowledge.  From D I learned that when camelias were first discovered, the English thought they weren’t hardy enough for the English climate and so they built them elaborate conservatories, such as the one at Woburn.  But of course they are quite tough enough to be outside in an English winter.
