Merry Christmas from Chatsworth House

Merry Christmas.

Each year Chatsworth opens during November and December to show off themed decorated rooms: entrance hall, corridors around the internal courtyard, chapel, carved panelled room, main stair, library, exhibition (this year on the 6th “Batchelor” Duke, Georgiana’s only son), state dining room and the sculpture gallery.

For 2011 the theme was “Deck the Halls“.

I’ll follow up with a post on “Bringing back the baroque bling” early next year, but for now, here’s Chatsworth in all its overstuffed garden centre-esque glory with its Christmas 2011 decoration.See all my Chatsworth photos here.
