Open Gardens 2011: Skip Garden (NW1)

Kooky and fun but a very very sensible message.

The Skip Garden is a mobile allotment on the King’s Cross development site built in partnership with many local partners as an example of organic urban agriculture.

As the builders need to start work on one site, the skips move elsewhere.

The functions of an organic garden are separated into separate skips (including a growing house and green engine!)

The Skip Garden serves as an educational platform where local children, young people, and business employees work together on tangible projects to improve local sustainability.

When visited: 11 June 2011
